I never envisioned myself painting that traditionally ubiquitous Canadian subject; landscapes. It wasn’t until I started working on the Memoryscapes series that I realized that the landscapes were indelible objects in my memories. I can still hear the now defunct CBC 1pm long dash and how it always seemed to happen just as Porcupine Mountain came into view and were hitting the Canso Causeway on our journey from Moncton to Sydney every August.
My focus then is on turning up the saturation of emotional impact of landscapes around me.
